Vowel Pattern Sort

Here is a vowel pattern resource that I have created. The purpose of this activity is to expose students to other ways long vowel sounds can be made, other than the "sneaky e." This is the first year I have had first graders in my classroom. They tend to always default to"sneaky e" spelling when they hear a word that contains a long vowel. Therefore, I have created this activity to expose them over and over again to different types of spelling (in addition to the small group activities we do). 

 I am currently using these for one of my station rotations. You can read about my station rotations here . However, these could be sent home for homework or even used as an early finisher activity.

I had a request for a cut and paste addition for kindergarten. It is almost the same as the original version. I have deleted the lines to write and a row of words. This allowed for me to make the squares bigger for cutting. You can get the Kindergarten addition here.

Visual Steps for Mass

I work at a Catholic School. I know, you're wondering why that's relevant!? 💁Well, not only are we a Catholic School, but we are the ONLY Catholic School in the state of Georgia that has a certified special needs program.  It has been quite the journey! Our small class sizes and ability to give each student one-on-one time to meet their academic needs has truly benefited so many of our students. Teaching the Sacraments

Do you find it difficult to teach the sacraments to your students or kids? Let's be honest, the sacraments are pretty abstract concept! My students struggle with remembering the names or multiple names of the sacraments! Just when they finally remembered what the sacrament of Penance was, our priest would ask them ask question about the sacrament of Confession! My student(s) would turn to me wide eyed, completely confused. 😳 I decided to make a meaningful sacrament resource that would tackle these types of challenges.
