First Communion Student Gifts

Hi Teachers! I have created a fun and useful resource for you this week! First Communion is just around the corner. Do you struggle with finding a gift that won't cost you a ton of money from your own paycheck? I did!

Every year First Communion rolled around I always got a little stressed about a student gift. I wanted to get them something special, but I also didn't feel comfortable spending a big chunk of my own paycheck to do it. So I have created a student gift that will only cost you a $1.25! Another Bonus: it's a digital download, so you will have it each year First Communion rolls around.

The gift is useful and meaningful for students It is something they could keep forever, and use it to help them grow in their faith.

The First Communion Gift resource is a prayer card and an award that you can give to each student making First Communion. The prayer card is a prayer for after receiving communion. The prayer will help them stay focused on Christ in the Eucharist. It is a great way to help them grow spiritually in the sacrament.

The prayer is called "Little White Guest." It is completely age appropriate. I know sometimes our prayers can contain vocabulary that is difficult, but this prayer will help them visualize Jesus in the Eucharist. This prayer has been apart of our Church Tradition for years! Even as an adult, reading this prayer has helped me focus on the Eucharist.

In the resource, I have included black and white and color versions of the prayer cards and awards. All you have to do is print and cut! If you would like to add longevity to the prayer card, I recommend lamenting them.

Please note, the Communion Awards are not meant to look official or be a certificate. An official Certificate of Communion should come from the Parish school. This award is just a cute gift to show your student how proud you are of them!

If you wanted to add a little something more, you could purchase saint charms and throw them on a piece of string to make a necklace. My students LOVED when I gave them saint necklaces. Your local Catholic gift shop should have saint charms available. With or without the saint charm, this is a fantastic and cost effective gift for your students.

You can purchase the resource at my Teachers Pay Teachers store by clicking HERE! Thank you for visiting my blog!

Word Pattern Activities: NO PREP

Guys! This is an amazing resource...and it's FREE! This year, I had a group of kiddos that were having difficulty with vowel diagraphs or long vowel sounds other than the "cvcv" pattern. Every time they heard a word with long vowel sound (i.e. coat) they always wanted to add the "silent/sneaky e" to the end of it (cote).  I wanted them to be exposed to the other vowel teams that are out there, so I created these activities. I use some of these activities as early finishers or for station work. I do have some sheets with "sneaky e" in the pack, because I have a range of students in my classroom.  I hope this resource helps you! Please follow me on Instagram  . Lenten Count Down!

Lent is almost here! Can you believe it? I wanted to share a door decoration with you all. I was inspired by Lacy over at Catholic Icing . She has pretty amazing ideas to help bring the faith into the classroom. Each year I usually use her interactive Lenten calendar coloring page. That can be found here . However, this year I decided to do something a little different! I made a life size model of it! Check out the picture: Each day of Lent, a student will shade in the square with purple. I also had my kiddos add pictures for  Palm Sunday,  Holy Thursday, and Good Friday. They drew Jesus riding in on a Donkey. One of them drew Jesus on the cross. We added palms around Palm Sunday.  They turned out really cute! The kids are really excited to begin the count down. I'm hoping this door decoration will help to keep the season on their mind.
